The movie ‘You are the apple of my eye’ which was directed by Giddens (九把刀) held a grand movie premiere at XiMenDing yesterday. School-like scene was being moved into the movie street, the red-carpet was converted into a school field track, and the stage was transformed into a command arena with all the actors putting on high school uniform at the premiere. South Korea group SS501 Park Jung Min and Rainie Yang showed their support by attending this premiere which caused 800 fans to scream and shout for their idols.

Not only Giddens, Ke Jing Teng, Michelle Chen and the actors attended the premiere, more than 50 artistes attended which includes Jacky Wu, Harlem, Jimmy Lin, Yao Yuan Hao, Joe Cheng, etc. When Rainie Yang and Park Jung Min were walking on the red-carpet, the screaming from the fans was very loud. Rainie Yang praised that Park Jung Min’s Chinese had improved. When Jung Min greeted using Chinese, another round of scream from the fans started all over again.

Kim HyunJoong left Taiwan on 17 August, around 200 over fans squeezed in the airport to send their idol off, he made his stop in Taiwan for 4 days 3 night, the number of luggages he had were massive, he said that inside all those luggages were gifts he received from Taiwan fans, he had specially reminded his staff to pack all back, not leaving back even a single gift.

Because of Kim HyunJoong’s consideration for his fans, his check-in luggages were overweight 121kg, and need to pay more than NT42000 (Around S$2100). His staff said, although knowing that he will need to pay the fines, Kim HyunJoong still insisted to bring the gifts along with him. Since young his family was not very well off, so he has caltivated a bit of being thrifty, but because of fans’ love gifts, he doesn’t feel heart pain, but smile briliantly.

During Kim HyunJoong’s visit in Taiwan, he had an exclusive interview with MTV channel ‘JK Music Craze’ MC Calvin Chen.

He said that his hobby is playing soccer and revealed that he has joined a Korean Celebrity Soccer team, and would gather his celebrity friends to rent a soccer field to play all they want.

Kim Hyun Joong is the first Korean artist to guest on top Taiwanese talk show, ‘The Person’ 

On August 15th, Hallyu star SS501’s Kim Hyun Joong guested as the first ever Korean star on Taiwan’s TVBS program, ‘The Person‘. 

‘The Person’ is said to be one of the representative programs of TVBS, and also consistently records #1 in viewer ratings. Through TVBS-Asia, the show is broadcast to Singapore, Hong Kong, Macau, Australia, Malaysia, the States and other locations. Top stars that have previously guested on the program include Andrea Bocelli and Jay Chou. 

Kim Hyun Joong talked about his youth, his debut, his acting career, and his debut solo mini-album. When he was requested to perform his title track, “Break Down“, on the spot for his Taiwanese fans, he didn’t show any signs of hesitation and got up to throw a spectacular performance on par with a real stage. 

Announcer Fang Nian Hua, a famous figure to the Taiwanese, was also the MC of the program and was reported to have come with questions that she had come up with herself.

MANILA, Philippines -- The first-ever “high-five” experience in the country happens when Kim Hyun Joong visits the country in The Hi-Five Touch Event on Aug. 25 at the TriNoma Activity Center to promote his brand new album “Break down,” distributed by PolyEast Records.

All music fans have to do is buy a copy of “Break down” at the event through Astroplus after which a special lotte card will be issued and exchanged for a High 5 touch pass issued by TriNoma. Note that there will be no ticket selling, no autograph signing, no meet & greet nor picture-taking but just a simple “gimme me five” up-close and personal moment with Kim Hyun Joong.

Kim Hyun Joong debuts with the album “Break down” as he displays a different persona compared to his SS501 days. Hyun Joong has taken the most generic route out of all the SS501 member's solo activities—typical synthesizer instrumentals, heavy beats and catchy choruses as well as bubblegum pop.

After rounding up his tour both in the US and South Korea, Kim Hyun Joong hit back the studio and recorded this mini-album with KAT-TUN producer Steven Lee.

Kim Hyun Joong’s involvement in making the album together with Japanese group V6 and Lee allowed him to reveal his talent as a solo artist. “Break Down” consists of six songs, with one instrumental version of the title track.

The title track is a powerful synthesized song with an urban style which features the stylish rapping of South Korea’s Double K; and Ken Lewis (Eminem, Kanye West, Usher and John Legend) as the single’s producer. The music video for "Break Down" was simultaneously released with the single’s digital release.

Marking his comeback to the music scene, the album also features the previously released single “Please” in which Kim Hyun Joong portrayed a different and mature image in his music video. Other album highlights include “Intro (Let Me Go)” which opens with a magnificent pipe organ melody. Also in the album is the song “Kiss Kiss,” another pop/dance song interestingly accompanied with an acoustic guitar, as well as the dance-y, “Yes I Will.”

Aside from the Philippines, “Break Down” will also be released in South Korea, Mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Thailand, Singapore and Malaysia.

Kim Hyun Joong has returned to Taiwan for the first time in 2 years for his promotions in Asia.

According to a report from the Taiwanese press, hundreds of people gathered at Taoyuan Internation Airport on August 14th for Kim Hyun Joong. It is reported that when Kim Hyun Joong finally appeared, he was welcomed by the awaiting fans passionately chanting, “I love you, ‘Space God’”.

Later in the afternoon, Kim Hyun Joong attended the “2011 High Five Taipei Fan Meet”.
Despite the grueling rainy weather, more than 2,000 fans attended the event. At the event, Kim Hyun Joong stated, “I have nothing to say but that I love you. Thank you so much”, sending his grateful heart.

To show his thankfulness towards his fans that waited in the rain, Kim Hyun Joong made personal requests to change the planned high five greeting with his fans to hand shakes, moving the hearts of his fans.

The MC said, from the drawing content showed that Kim HyunJoong is not a male chauvinist, he will be very family loving, but the stone in the drawing represent obstacle and duck represent his future children, seems like the children will be Kim HyunJoong's future obstacle! Ken: Wah! Everybody! You have seen Kim HyunJoong. Therefore, we want him to start off by greeting everybody here. Is it alright?
HJL: Long time no see! Hi everybody, I am Kim HyunJoong! [好久不见，大家好, 我是金贤重。]
Ken: Wah! Looked! Although it is raining today but there are a lot of people here.
[Thunder~~]
Ken: There's even thunder! How do you feel?
HJL: I have not came to Taiwan for these 3 years. Didn't come here for so long but still see so many fans here, I feel very happy. Also, I am very happy that a lot of fans welcome me in the airport. Thank you everybody.
Ken: Today in the airport, 400 fans went to welcome him. And now I think there are around 2000 over fans here. So many come to support and meet him under such condition. Do say some sweet words to everybody. OK? Let everybody experience Kim HyunJoong's love. Ok? Let's hear what he wants to tell us. What do you want to tell us?
HJL: There's only one sentence. I love you!
[Scream for fans~~~~~~]
Ken: When Kim HyunJoong said 'I Love You' these 3 words, it started to thunder.
Ken: Because actually for about 2 years plus he didn't come to Taiwan. But during this period, what thing in Taiwan do you miss?
HJL: I wish to eat XiaoLongBao (Steam dumplings) which he previously ate in Taiwan.
Ken: Hope he can experience it during this trip in Taiwan. Because today from welcoming him in airport to here, we know there are many Taiwan fans supporting you. We also during the past periods we know a lot of Taiwan fans hope you can come here. Today when you are here, do you have anything to report to your Taiwan fans, in future our Taiwan fans has chance to see in Taiwan, something different from other places, a different Kim HyunJoong performance.
HJL: Oh! Once I started to talk, it started to thunder.
HJL: This time there are some activities so I am here to meet everybody. This year end or beginning of next year, there will be a concert, by then, hope everybody will definitely come to support. (Actually leader say something like hope everybody keep in anticipation)
Ken: Yeah! At last I helped you ask about this, that is in this year, Kim HyunJoong might come to Taiwan to hold his concert!
[Scream~~~~~]
Ken: This kind of situation must have not seen quite often.
HJL: It is raining now, everybody is under the rain, must be very uncomfortable getting wet. Really thankful that everybody has waited for me so patiently. I will use my most sincere heart for this activity. Thank you everybody.
Ken: Ok. So we will immediately start today's activity and before the activity, there are a lot of media/press waiting to take photo

Hi-5 Event

While they were arranging the table and chair for HyunJoong, HyunJoong stopped them and told them that they can start immediately. The originally Hi-5 also changed into hand shake.

Kim Hyun Joong's Transformations for Hang Ten

Recently, Kim Hyun Joong shot a new series of posters for leisure clothing brand Hang Ten's Fall catalogue. During the photo shoot, Kim Hyun Joong shares his megawatt smiles that have been winning the hearts of many female fans. Sometimes, he gives off the vibe of an innocent young boy, and at times, that of an aloof metropolitan.  

The leader of SS501 is not new to posing for fashion catalogues. He kept changing his poses like a seasoned model, leading the photo shoot session like a professional. Dressed in sweater and striped shirts, Kim Hyun Joong was able to project the comfortable casual style of the brand. 

Kim Hyun Joong said: "This is a good opportunity to wear clothings for Fall now, and a good time to learn about fashion. My second solo single album would be released this Fall, I hope everyone can look forward to it and give your support."

Meanwhile, the follow-up song "Kiss Kiss" has been introduced and Kim Hyun Joong is now on his Asia Tour. He is making a stop in Taiwan this weekend and moving on next to Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and concluding the tour with the Philippines.

On 11th August, press conference for THEFACESHOP and its official ambassador Kim Hyun Joong was held in Intercontinental in Hochimihn City, Vietnam. Estimated of fifty media attended the conference in which Power Perfection BB Cream launch was taken place. Kim Hyun Joong has visited two main outlets of THEFACESHOP and got to greet around 2,500 enthusiastic fans. In addition, Kim has delivered 100,000,000 KRW that was earned from the auction on his cherished item to Operation Smile, a nonprofit organization that operates for disabled children.
